Lorna Fitzgerald caught taking legal high

EastEnders bosses have been left furious with Lorna Fitzgerald after she was caught taking a legal high after a night out in london.

The 19-year-old actress - who plays Abi Branning on the BBC One soap - is in hot water with producers after she was photographed inhaling nitrous oxide, also known as hippy crack, out of a balloon after buying it from a street dealer for £10 following a boozy night out with friends in the capital.

A source said: "EastEnders really aren't happy and are going to be talking to Lorna about it. They don't take this kind of behaviour lightly."

One witness confirmed Lorna was a little worse for wear when the incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning (18.04.15).

They told The Sun newspaper: "Lorna was quite obviously a bit drunk.

"After sucking the balloons they started giggling.

"A few people recognised her and shouted, 'Abi'. She said, 'That's not my real name'."

Her actions have also been slammed by Jeremy Sare, from the anti-drugs charity Angelus Foundation, who claims the actress put herself at risk of "personal injury" as she was taking the high surrounded by traffic while intoxicated.

He said: "Nitrous oxide has a very intense intoxicating effect and when taken with alcohol it can be a very risky experience.

"Taking it outside a club, with traffic around, will considerably increase the chances of personal injury.

"It's worrying how fashionable this has become -- we hope it goes out of fashion soon."
