Laura Whitmore quits I'm a Celebrity spin-off

Laura Whitmore has quit I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW!

The Irish presenter joined the spin-off of the hit ITV programme in 2011, replacing Caroline Flack as presenter. She has hosted alongside former 'King of the Jungle' Joe Swash since her beginning on the show, as well as with comedian David Morgan on the 2015 series.

But Laura revealed to her fans on Instagram on Thursday night (14Apr16) that she had made the decision to quit the show after five years at the helm.

"After 5 incredible series working with my extended I’m a Celeb family, I’ve taken the tough decision to hang up my jungle boots," she said in her statement.

"It’s been such a wonderful experience but I feel it’s time to move on. I wish the team well and look forward to tuning in later this year as well as continuing to work with ITV on other shows."

It has also been suggested that David will also not be returning, but Joe - a favourite among viewers - is set to make his comeback for the 2016 series.

While Laura's replacement has yet to be formally announced by the network, one person has already pitched themselves as a potential presenter.

Katie Price, who appeared on the show back in 2004, tweeted that she would love to host the show alongside an unlikely co-presenter - her ex-husband Peter Andre.

"I would sooo present this how cool if me and Pete did it (sic)," Katie tweeted.

Katie and Peter famously found love in the jungle and went on to marry and have two children together. They divorced in 2009 and ended their relationship on bitter terms, but are believed to have reconciled in recent months and are now friends.

Peter has yet to respond to his ex's suggestion on his own Twitter page.
