Late singer Pete Burns was due on Loose Women
Late singer Pete Burns was due to appear on Loose Women this week (beg24Oct16).
The former Dead Or Alive frontman passed away unexpectedly on Sunday (23Oct16) after suffering a heart attack, according to a statement issued by his management team on Burns' official Twitter page.
His death comes just weeks before he released his new album, a boxset of Dead Or Alive's back catalogue, and he had been due on the ITV lunchtime chat show to promote the record.
The exact date of his appearance on the programme is unknown, as The Sun reported it was Monday (24Oct16) while the Daily Mirror said Tuesday (25Oct16).
However, Burns is said to have pulled out of the show citing ill health, with an ITV source telling The Sun that his management told them: "Pete Burns was no longer available for this date and as with live television, guests are subject to change."
After announcing his death, his team tweeted: "All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with (sic)... He will live forever in our memories."
Born in Cheshire, England, Burns rose to fame in the 1980s as a member of pop band Dead or Alive. They achieved success with the singles That's the Way (I Like It), a cover of the KC and the Sunshine Band hit, What I Want, and I'd Do Anything, but their breakthrough came in 1984, when You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) became a chart smash and helped the group break into the American market.
Burns, who attracted attention for his eccentric and androgynous appearance, later established himself as a TV personality, competing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 and most recently, featuring on Celebrity Botched Up Bodies last month (Sep16).
