Joey Essex will hunt for soulmate on new dating show

Joey Essex is set to search for his soul mate on new E4 show Celebs Go Dating.

Six famous faces will feature on the show, as the stars attempt to find a non-famous love match. Alongside Joey on the hunt will be former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, Made In Chelsea's Stephanie Pratt, Outnumbered actor Tyger Drew-Honey, Tattoo Fixers' Paisley and You Tube star Jack Jones.

The celebrities will all be matched with "ordinary" people over the course of three weeks, in the hope that they will end up finding their perfect man or woman.

Prior to the dates, dating agency owner Eden Blackman and matchmaker Nadia Essex will vet the applications from potential love matches to see if they are compatible with any of the stars.

Cameras will be on hand for every point of the dates - from picking an outfit to post-date reactions - while the experts will also provide chemistry analysis of the couples before, during and after the dates.

Channel 4's Head of Formats Dom Bird said of the new series: "If there’s one thing we can’t bear to see at E4, it’s a celebrity who’s unlucky in love. That’s why we’ve created our own celebrity dating agency, whose sole aim is to find true romance for famous singletons. Celebs Go Dating will find real people and match them up with famous faces, all in the name of love."

Joey, Charlotte and Stephanie have all had very public relationship dramas with their respective famous partners. Joey was formerly engaged to his The Only Way Is Essex co-star Sam Faiers, while Charlotte's on-off relationship with Gaz Beadle kept Geordie Shore fans entertained for years. Stephanie, meanwhile, was very publicly dumped by beau Josh Shepherd on an episode of Made In Chelsea.

Celebs Go Dating will air nightly on E4 for three weeks later this year (16).
