Jeremy Clarkson the butt of jokes in BBC return
TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson is the butt of every joke during his appearance on Have I Got News For You on Friday night (02Oct15).
The 55-year-old TV personality is set for his first appearance on the BBC following his axing from Top Gear earlier this year (15). His punching of a producer saw him sacked from the popular show, which he co-hosted alongside Richard Hammond and James May.
In a preview of Friday's episode of topical quiz show Have I Got News For You, it seems his fellow panellists are quick to jump on the jibes towards him.
As guest Richard Osman asks whether Jeremy plans on contacting new Top Gear frontman Chris Evans, fellow contestant Camilla Long quips: "Go on Jeremy, punch him."
Richard joins in on the banter, quizzing Jeremy on whether he remembers how to punch.
And Jeremy was even brought into political debates currently swirling in the news. For example, while discussing Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn, journalist Ian Hislop saw another opportunity to mock.
"A man called Jeremy who has extreme views and won't be in a job for long," Ian aimed at Clarkson.
However it seems the fast car enthusiast takes things in his stride. He even joins in at one point when asked if he regretted his actions.
"Yeah - apart from the pay rise," Jeremy quipped.
In July (15) it was announced Jeremy will reunite with Richard and James in a new Amazon Prime series. As it's produced by former Top Gear executive Andy Wilman, there's a guaranteed fast car element to proceedings.
Jeremy shared his delight via Twitter at the time.
"I'm very excited to announce that Hammond, May and I have signed a deal with .@AmazonVideo," Jeremy tweeted.
"@AmazonVideoUK now saying I can't be their chief drone pilot. Apparently they want us to make a car show."
