Greg Rutherford on Strictly bromance with Judge Rinder

Greg Rutherford has dismissed the Strictly Come Dancing curse, insisting the only romance is happening between him and Judge Rinder.

Over the years, the BBC talent show has led to the end of several relationships due to the celebrities coupling up with their professional dance partners - leading to speculation of a show curse.

However, one of this year's competitors, Olympian Greg, insists the rumours are completely untrue and instead gushed to the Metro newspaper about the new love of his life - fellow contestant Rob Rinder.

"The only Strictly curse that has been happening is the romance between me and Rob," he said. "There’s a lot of male love going on."

Greg is more than happy in his personal life with partner Susie Verrill and their two-year-old son Milo. And there is no drama between Susie and Greg's dance partner Natalie Lowe, with Greg admitting they even go on double dates.

"We all get on very well. Me, Natalie, James (her fiance), we all go for dinner together," he said. "I didn’t come into Strictly looking for a girlfriend. For some, maybe – not for us... I’ve got someone and I’m very happy where I am."

Susie previously joked about the Strictly curse with a humorous tweet last month (Sep16), when she wrote: "After last night, I’m now concerned about the Strictly curse. Concerned in the way that I fancy @RealNatalieLowe more than @GregJRutherford."

Greg retweeted the message with some laughing emojis, while Natalie replied: "“That tweet’s made my day, love you too @susiejverrill”.

Susie also spoke about the "curse" in an interview with Mirror Online, insisting: "I think the Strictly curse is really offensive to all the dancers, it makes out that that is what they are up to," she told Mirror Online.

"It's ridiculous, I want Greg and Natalie to get closer, then it looks great. I used to be a dancer and I love it. I love Natalie, I love her more than Greg."
