Gogglebox favourite Scarlett Moffatt 'signs fitness DVD deal'
Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt has reportedly signed up to star in her own fitness DVD.
The 25-year-old is a favourite among fans of the Channel 4 show thanks to her quick wit and sunny disposition. However, after revealing her weight battle earlier this month (Apr16), Scarlett is now apparently set to shed the pounds and launch an exercise video in time for Christmas.
"Scarlett is known for sitting on the sofa, but her sedentary lifestyle has really taken a toll on her figure," a source told The Sun newspaper.
"When she was asked if she wanted to do a DVD and lose weight, she jumped at the chance. Not only will it help her look even more stunning, it's bound to open up the door for more deals and endorsements, and they're the real money-makers for reality stars."
According to the publication, the company behind Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby's 3 Minute Bum Blitz and former The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger's OMG! Workout will be producing Scarlett's DVD.
Scarlett recently opened up about her battle against the bulge after she was pictured looking curvier than usual in a tight dress. She admitted to the Mail Online that she had been told by doctors that she needed to slim down because her BMI was far too high.
"I have been tested for diabetes because my BMI puts me in the danger zone," she said. "It was a real scare and I know I need to sort myself out and lose weight."
News of the DVD comes as The Sun also reports that Scarlett lost out on a £25,000 deal with diet brand Forza. Apparently, the young star had agreed to the deal and even started working out at a bootcamp, but hadn't realised she would need permission from Gogglebox's broadcaster Channel 4.
"Scarlett did the deal herself but she didn’t know to get approval from Channel 4," a source told the paper. "She embarked on a big programme with Forza and threw herself into it.
"She spent a week at boot camp and lost loads of weight taking supplements and doing exercise. But when Channel 4 got wind they weren’t happy and advised her to pull out. She ending up losing herself and Forza a lot of money."
A Channel 4 spokesperson denied the claims, telling The Sun: "Scarlett did not run this deal past Channel 4 for permission, she personally decided she didn’t want to pursue the conversation with Forza any further."
