Freddy Parker is latest X Factor casualty
Freddy Parker was the latest hopeful voted off The X Factor on Sunday night (16Oct16).
The 18-year-old singer had been hoping for success on the ITV talent show, but failed to impress viewers and consequently ended up in the sing-off alongside Finnish contestant Saara Aalto.
After the pair both sang for survival, it was up to judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh to decide who should go home.
Head judge Simon sent the vote to deadlock after voting to send Saara home, meaning that as both she and Freddy had two votes each, the decision was referred back to the public vote.
Host Dermot O'Leary then told Freddy that he had received the fewest number of votes from the public and would therefore be sent home from the programme.
A clearly heartbroken Freddy said after hearing the news: "I'm devastated to go at this point because I have loved every second of this amazing experience and I just really didn't want it to end."
It was the second consecutive week that Saara had ended up in the sing-off, while controversial rapper Honey G made it through on the public vote.
However, as she appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning (17Oct16), Saara insisted she isn't holding a grudge against Honey G.
"I don't think this competition is about who is better than someone else," she said tactfully. "In music you can't really tell who is better. It feels great that last night I got through because people voted for me. People are starting to know me and I'm so grateful, so happy."
Saara's sing-off success came despite her mentor Sharon forgetting her name on two occasions. But Saara wasn't offended because she was so focused ahead of performing Leona Lewis' Run that she didn't even notice.
