Danny Mac's Strictly ban on baring his chest
Strictly Come Dancing heartthrob Danny Mac has put a ban on revealing his bare chest to "maintain his dignity".
The 28-year-old, who is one of the breakout stars of the ballroom show, has stood out for his slick dances alongside partner Oti Mabuse, including a dramatic Viennese Waltz and a raunchy Rumba.
The hunky actor, who starred as Mark 'Dodger' Savage on Channel 4's Hollyoaks from 2011 to 2015, has impressed each week with his moves scoring a 31 from the judges for his first dance, a Cha Cha and he hasn't scored below 30 - topping the leader board three times - and last Saturday (12Nov16) he earned two perfect 10s for his Jive. But his fans will be disappointed by his decision to cover up on the dancefloor.
"I don't think having my top off's going to help me get through, it's about the dancing," the actor explained in an interview with the The Mirror. "I'm wary of just stripping my kit off.
"With the rumba they said it had to be quite sexy, so would I mind undoing a few buttons? And I think it worked better because I maintained that dignity, and also you're dancing which isn't the most comfortable feelings anyway, so the last thing you want to do is have your shirt wide open."
Despite his television success, like many of the Strictly contestants, Danny has found the prospect of dancing in front of millions each week an uncomfortable and nerve-wracking experience.
"I can't explain the nerves. As an actor, I'm performing and I manage to turn it around but I've never known a feeling like it. The anxiety," he confided in an appearance on ITV show Loose Women last week.
The actor, who is engaged to former Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson and is set to wed next summer (17), will join the rest of the remaining contestants for the Blackpool ballroom bonanza, where he and partner Oti will dance the Charleston.
