Danny Dyer dedicated TRIC award to Katie Hopkins

Danny Dyer dedicated his TRIC award win to Katie Hopkins.

The 'EastEnders' star was handed the Television and Radio Industries Club's Soap Personality gong for his portrayal of Mick Carter in the BBC One drama and claimed the 'Celebrity Big Brother' star - who he's clashed with on Twitter over the past week - is "obsessed" with him during his acceptance speech.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I can't get my head around it to be honest with you. She seems a bit obsessed with me...

"You've got to take the rough with the smooth. You can't please everybody. We've got to stop making these people famous."

At the ceremony, 'Strictly Come Dancing' took home the award for reality programme whilst 'The Great British Bake Off' won the gong for Factual Programme.

ITV's 'Downton Abbey' was honoured for HD Drama Programme of the Year whilst 'Gogglebox' won for Entertainment Programme.

In the battle of the soaps, it was 'Coronation Street' who came out on top to be crowned TV Soap of the Year.

TV Personality of the Year went to Ant and Dec whilst Susanna Reid took the News Presenter/Reporter gong.

In the sports section, HD Sports Programme was handed to 'A Question of Sport' whilst the TRIC Special Award was awarded to 'Match of the Day'.
