Craig Lawson vows to continue pursuing Camilla Thurlow after Love Island exit
Craig Lawson still has high hopes for a potential romance with Camilla Thurlow, despite things not working out for the couple on Love Island.
The tattooed hunk was one of four hopefuls dumped from the island on Tuesday night's (04Jul17) episode of the ITV2 show, after Camilla called time on their fledgling relationship due to still harbouring hurt feelings over her former pairing with Jonny Mitchell.
Despite the fact he is no longer able to pursue his love in the Mallorcan villa, Craig is hoping that things will go more smoothly for him and Camilla once she has also left the show.
"I told her it would be nice to catch up when I'm out," Craig told the Daily Mail Online after his exit. "I know she feels she can't handle romance in the villa but in the outside environment maybe it would be different...
"Sometimes saying too much is the same as saying not enough. I've laid it out there and everything's in her hands."
Craig found himself dubbed "creepy Craig" by some viewers of the show, due to the intensity with which he tried to pursue Camilla. However, he insists his behaviour wasn't just due to being on television, and he's always been full on with women he likes.
"I wore my heart on my sleeve but I'm like that," he smiled. "I go 100 per cent in or nothing. My mates always take the p**s out of me because I am a bit of a sop when it comes to women."
It was up to Camilla's close friend Montana Brown to choose whether to send home Craig or her former love Jonny on Tuesday's episode, after being told by Caroline Flack that she had been voted the most popular girl on the show.
She chose to give Craig his marching orders, while Marcel Somerville had the job of choosing whether to send home Tyla Carr or Danielle Sellers after being named the most popular boy in the villa. He sent home Danielle in order to allow Jonny and Tyla to give their romance a proper chance, while Chyna Ellis and Nathan Joseph were automatically sent home after coming last in the viewers' popularity vote.
