Corrie stars hit with sunbathing ban
Coronation Street stars were forced to stay indoors during the recent good weather as their bosses banned them from sunbathing.
Big names such as Shayne Ward, who plays knicker boss Aidan Connor and Daniel Brocklebank, who plays vicar Billy Mayhew, had to stay inside to ensure they didn't appear sunburned or tanned when the scenes would be broadcast in September.
Ward joked that for continuity reasons he could only spend 30 seconds outside in breaks between filming while Brocklebank was kept covered up while shooting on location.
The Star quotes a soap insider who said: "How would they explain it if they were all tanned and glowing and then if in the next scene it was pouring with rain?"
"Some of the cast members were extremely disappointed that they were all missing out on the hottest day of the year."
The bosses weren't all bad though, as they did bring in an ice cream van so the cast and crew could enjoy a cold treat on set.
