Caroline Flack: 'I'm ready to move on from The X Factor'

Caroline Flack has denied claims she's fallen out with her former The X Factor co-host Olly Murs.

The pair's onscreen chemistry won over the nation when they hosted the programme's spin-off show The Xtra Factor together. However, they failed to enjoy the same levels of success when they were both named the presenters of the main ITV series last year (15).

Earlier this year (16), it was confirmed that neither Caroline nor Olly would be returning to their hosting gigs. But on Thursday (07Apr16) it was reported that Olly knew they both wouldn't be returning but decided not to tell Caroline which allegedly led to a major rift between the pals.

Following The Sun newspaper's report, Caroline took to Twitter on Thursday morning to set the record straight.

"I hate being made to make a comment on these things but I feel forced..." she wrote. "I'm not bitter about X factor ...I have not fallen out with Olly , I wanted to leave, I had the best time, I'm happy. Rested. Feel blessed and am looking forward to the rest of the year .... Everything evolves and changes . Time to move on xx"

Olly confirmed he was quitting the show on 22 February (16), saying: "My heart belongs to music and I want to concentrate on my next album and performing."

Just hours later on the same day, Caroline confirmed she was also leaving the show, saying in a statement: "I have had a brilliant time working on The X Factor over the last few years, and hosting the main show was just fantastic, I made some amazing friends. I’m looking forward to carrying on working with the team over at ITV."

Dermot O'Leary is returning to host this year's series (16) of The X Factor after being axed in 2015 for Caroline and Olly.
