Carol Vorderman earning £200,000 for I'm A Celebrity - report
Carol Vorderman is the best paid member of this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmates.
Ahead of the new series kicking off on Sunday (13Nov16), The Sun newspaper has reported the fees the stars have allegedly signed up for.
Former Countdown star Carol is top of the pack, with a staggering fee of £200,000, while ex England footballer Wayne Bridge isn't far behind with £150,000.
Larry Lamb and Emmerdale heartthrob Adam Thomas are both earning six figures to appear on the program, according to the newspaper.
"Carol doesn’t need the money so ITV had to come up with something decent because she’s the show’s main focal point at the moment as she is the most recognisable star," a source told The Sun.
"Going in the jungle won’t hurt her career and so £200,000 is basically free money. Larry and Adam are both on the telly a lot and will be a good draw for soaps fans – especially Adam who will bring in the younger viewers."
Ola Jordan, who found fame as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, will receive £90,000 to appear on the show, while the other contestants, such as Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt, Olympian Sam Quek and model and presenter Lisa Snowdon will receive between £40,000 and £70,000.
Diversity star Jordan Banjo and little-known comedian Joel Dommett round out the pack with wages of £25,000 each.
"Jordan and Joel are virtual unknowns so the money is low for them but still not a bad pay day and the jungle experience could really boost their careers," the source added.
Reports of the stars' salaries come as Adam's Emmerdale co-star Jeff Hordley, who plays his character's stepfather Cain Dingle in the ITV soap, tipped him for victory in the jungle.
"I think he's going to be amazing," Jeff told Digital Spy. "He is the nicest person. He's just a happy soul. He's the kind of person that you just want around you all the time. He's a great presence and he really brings sunshine to everybody's lives. I think that boy will be a national treasure after this programme, because he is so lovely and so likeable."
