Carol Vorderman and Lisa Snowdon confirmed for I'm A Celebrity
Carol Vorderman, Lisa Snowdon and Scarlett Moffatt are among the stars heading into the jungle for this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
Following much speculation about the line-up for the upcoming series of the ITV programme, the celebrity contenders have now been confirmed by the channel.
Former Countdown star Carol has been linked to the show for many years, but admitted in a release accompanying the news of the campmates that it was the menopause which finally convinced her to take part.
"I have been watching the show for years and have laughed so much. It is so funny," she said. "Now I am a menopausal Mama, I am having the time of my life, and I'm doing a lot more adventurous stuff. It’s the sense of adventure that I love about this show.
"I'll be 56 in December and there is life in the old bird yet!"
Bosses are no doubt hoping model and presenter Lisa will show off her phenomenal figure in the jungle shower, while the subject of her famous ex George Clooney is also bound to come up.
Explaining her decision to sign up for the show, Lisa said: "They’ve asked me to do I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! before, and I’ve always said no. But this year, I got excited. I am at the stage in my life where it’s good to be challenged. I know it is a bit extreme to go into the Jungle but I want to step outside my comfort zone."
Gogglebox favourite Scarlett is already being tipped for victory on the programme, after winning over viewers of the Channel 4 commentary series with her hilarious remarks about what's on the box. Clearly excited about the prospect of appearing on I'm A Celebrity, Scarlett said: "Oh my God, never ever did I ever think this was going to happen. I have been watching this show for as long as I can remember and I am getting overwhelmed by the fact I am going to meet Ant & Dec in the actual flesh!"
Former England football star Wayne Bridge, ex EastEnders actor Larry Lamb, Emmerdale heartthrob Adam Thomas, Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, Olympian Sam Quek and comedian Joel Dommett complete the initial line-up, although more famous faces are sure to be entering the camp along the way.
