Britain's Got Talent favourites' mothers are sisters
Britain's Got Talent favourite Jack Higgins' mother is twin sisters with singer Beau Dermott's mother.
Jack wowed the judges on Saturday night's episode (16Apr16) with his moving ballet display, after admitting his passion for dance had seen him bullied at school.
He was put through with four yeses from judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams and is now through to the next stage of the show.
But he has strong competition if he gets to the live finals, particularly from young singer Beau - who is actually his cousin.
Beau similarly impressed the judges with her audition, when she sang Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked, and caused Amanda to press her golden buzzer - sending Beau straight through to the live shows.
Now Jack's mother Debbie and her sister Karen are preparing to support their children through what will be the biggest competition of their lives.
But Debbie says the rivalry won't affect their strength as a family.
"Jack and Beau used to do little shows for me and Karen all the time," she told The Sun newspaper. "To do what they did on that stage is amazing. Karen and I speak every day and compare notes. We’re so close and live 10 minutes from each other. We see each other all the time as a family."
Jack, from Liverpool, added that he is hopeful that he will reach the final with his cousin. And the difference in their talents means it's not a direct competition, the 14-year-old insisted.
"It would be amazing to both get to the final. We are completely different acts, so it wouldn’t feel like we were competing against each other," he said.
"We’re best friends. We bake cakes and make videos of us singing and dancing. We would love to be in a musical together."
Other acts to impress on Saturday's Britain's Got Talent included gospel choir 100 Voices Of Gospel, who got Alesha's golden buzzer.
