Binky Felstead: 'Breastfeeding in public was so scary'
Binky Felstead was scared to breastfeed her daughter India in public when she first became a mother.
The 27-year-old reality TV star gave birth to her baby girl, her first child with co-star boyfriend Josh 'JP' Patterson, on 12 June (17). And while she appears to have settled into parenthood wonderfully, Binky admitted during an interview on ITV's This Morning on Friday that some aspects have been more difficult than others.
"Breastfeeding in public was scary for me. I'd never done it before so that was really scary for me," Binky said, admitting that having cameras follow her around for the couple's upcoming reality show spin-off meant added pressure.
JP joined Binky for the interview and told hosts Alison Hammond and Rylan Clark-Neal that he still finds it hard to believe he's a father.
Stroking India's ear as he spoke, JP said: "It's been the most surreal journey but it has been the most amazing one. She's here now and we have this most amazing girl."
And while she's still tiny, India is already helping her parents out by sleeping for around four hours at a time. JP also credited the pair's working as a team to making parenthood easier to cope with, explaining: "I honestly think it comes down to your partner. Binks and I have done so well bouncing off one another. It could either make it incredibly hard or incredibly easy and you end up picking up on these little signals.
"If Binks has done a few night feeds, it could be something as small as me making her a cup of tea. It's the little things."
The fact that India is such a good baby means the couple are already contemplating adding to their family.
"I'm thinking two and a half years," former Made in Chelsea star Binky shared when asked when she'd like to have another baby.
