Bake Off winner Candice Brown teases road trip spin-off
The Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown has hinted her dream of a baking road trip TV spin-off could soon become reality.
The lipstick-loving baker was crowned winner of the final series on the BBC last week (ends30Oct16), and the final scenes of the episode declared that Candice and fellow finalist Jane Beedle were planning a baking holiday to France.
Fans were quick to speculate about how the journey could become a television show in its own right, and as she attended the Pride of Britain Awards on Monday night (31Oct16), Candice teased that the prospect could well and truly be happening.
"(Jane and I) talk all the time about going to France," she told Digital Spy. "We've both got a love of France - and we just (thought) yeah it'd be really good.
"I love markets. I'd probably wind her up by buying something massive that wouldn't fit in the car and she'd moan at me. I'm sure we'll probably get a little trip away. We speak about it all the time - and all the other bakers as well! It could be a really good giggle."
Previous winners of the Bake Off have gone on to immense success, with last year's victor Nadiya Hussain the prime example with her own BBC special The Chronicles of Nadiya. But despite having offers coming at her from all angles, Candice hasn't had time to properly consider all her options.
"At the moment I've got no idea!" she admitted of her future. "I don't think my feet have touched the ground. I'm struggling to remember my own name, I think! I'm really looking forward to the next little while."
There has also been much speculation that Candice will release her own line of lipsticks, after her love of eye-catching hues for her pout led to sales of lipstick on the British high street increasing by 21 per cent.
