Ant and Dec sign new three-year deal with ITV

Ant and Dec have signed a new deal with ITV, extending their stay at the network for another three years.

The Geordie duo remain Britain's favourite presenting pair, hosting shows including Britain's Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and the current series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Their new contract means the pair, real names Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, will continue working exclusively for ITV until the end of 2019.

"We are absolutely delighted to be extending our relationship with ITV, to continue on the three shows we love as well as exploring further opportunities both in front of and behind the camera," Ant and Dec said in a statement. "This deal will take us past the 20-year mark with ITV and we couldn't be happier."

While the financial nature of the deal has yet to be confirmed, reports suggest the duo will bring in £30 million - a 20 per cent increase on their last deal with the network, which was alleged to have been £25 million.

Kevin Lygo, ITV's director of television, added in his statement: "Ant and Dec are quite simply brilliant entertainers and I'm thrilled that we will be working together for another three years.

"They are incredibly passionate about television and have that rare ability to connect with audiences of all ages, which has helped make the shows they present some of the biggest on British TV."

Ant and Dec first found fame on children's soap Byker Grove back in 1989, before they started presenting on Saturday morning shows SM:tv and CD:UK.

They then moved over to hosting primetime shows, and have taken home a record-breaking number of National Television Awards after starting to work with the channel in 1998.
