WATCH: Pushing for a Puskas again? Stephanie blasts home another crack
Stephanie Roche has proved she’s no ‘one-hit wonder’ by bursting the net in spectacular style once again.
This time Stephanie was playing for the Republic of Ireland women’s team against Costa Rica on Wednesday.
Her recent wonder goal, which was nominated for the prestigious Puskas award and was narrowly beaten into second place by James Rodriguez’s spectacular effort, really put Stephanie – and Irish women’s soccer – on the map.
This cracker against the World Cup finalists could see her in the shake-up for that shortlist once again.
“Well, I gave Denise O’Sullivan a shout because I knew it was on my better foot and, luckily enough, she left it for me and I was able to get it on my foot and get off a shot,” said Roche.
She is also looking forward to her new season with Texas-based Houston Dash in the US Women’s League – and more strikes like this are sure to endear her to an American public who lap up the spectacular.
