Reporter Bob Barnard was making a live broadcast from a museum promoting Museum Week in Washington – but got one unexpected extra viewer.

Drawn to his obvious celebrity magnetism, the huge African Moon Moth landed on the journalist’s ear while he was conducting an interview.

Unflustered, Barnard continued on like a real trooper, in a moment that would have freaked many people out.

However, he was left with an unexpected gift by the insect – it laid two eggs in his ear during the amorous encounter.
