WATCH: Dutch soccer team use lingerie models instead of child mascots

RKC Waalwijk used Valentine’s Day as an excellent excuse to have their players accompanied onto the pitch by scantily-clad models.

The Dutch second division outfit, who currently reside at the bottom of the league table, abandoned the conventional child mascot approach for something a bit different.

In a Valentine’s Day special, the team’s players took the pitch holding the hands of lingerie models who braced the cold conditions in very little clothing in a show of commitment to the cause.

While the display may have got some of the crowd standing, they may not have stayed erect for too long as their side went down 1-0 to FC Emmen.

The victors kindly posted a video of their opposition emerging onto the pitch, looking much happier than a team at the bottom of the league should.

In fairness, the visiting side also had their team led out by the Valentine's Day mascots to ensure a level playing field.
