Video: People gather to watch man removing clamp with a hammer in Dublin
A man spent about 10 minutes removing a clamp from a car, very loudly, with a hammer in Dublin's city centre today.
The incident happened at abut 2.45 this afternoon on Bow Street, near Smithfield Square.
The excerpt video, from independent.ie, shows a man hammering away at the clamp before succesfully removing it.
"There was a loud banging which rang through out the street and drew quite a bit of attention from the many tourists going to the Jameson Distillery, local residents, businesses and local legal offices," one resident said.
The man who removed the clamp left the wreckage against a wall and then the driver got into the car and drove off.
However, the hard work may not pay off for the motorist.
The clampers would have taken his details when they put on the clamp so a fine will definitely be headed his way and he may also be done for criminal damage to the clamp.
