Video: Boy trips and punches hole in $1m, 350-year-old painting
A young boy in Taiwan tripped at an art gallery and punched a hole in a hugely valuable, and very old, painting.
The incident happened at Face of Leonardo: Images of a Genius exhibition in Taipei.
The boy was ambling along when he stumbled over a small barrier and while trying to stay upright, accidentally punched a hole in the work by Paolo Porpora.
The 350-year-old work of art is valued at well over $1m.
The good news for the 12-year old, and his family, is that they will not be forced to pay for the cost of the repair.
The painting was insured and the large painting will now be restored by experts.
