A contestant on a dating show in Turkey admitted on live television that he murdered his wife and ex lover.

Sefer Calinak casually informed the show's host that he spent a number of years behind bars for the killings but was released under two different amnesty agreements.

The 62-year-old candidly informs the shocked host he "did what he had to do" after he became jealous of his first wife.

His first wife, who also turned out to be a cousin of his, was 17 when they married, but the relationship took a turn for the worst after they lived together.

“Her behaviour changed. The nephew of the man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her, in a way,” Çalınak said.

The dating debutant said he spent just over four years in prison for the crime before being released early as part of an amnesty agreement.

When he left prison he met a woman, married and had two children before he met another woman who he began an affair with.

His mistress apparently became angry and frenetic after he wanted her to leave her husband for him.

“I killed her after she tried to kill me,” he said. “She was accidentally killed when I swung the axe.”
Calinak spent a further six years in prison for this murder but was released under another amnesty agreement.
The show's host - visibly upset and repulsed - asks the man to leave the show, which he does.
He said he's a honest man and that he was the victim of "destiny".
“Bad luck always found me,” he said. “Despite everything, I still want to get married. This time I’ll leave it to God.”
