Someone has created a jam-filled sausage called "The Dausage" - and it looks bad

A food entrepreneur has created a hybrid food that looks and sounds absolutely vile.

It's a cross between a sausage and a doghnut, and it could be hitting shelves soon enough. 

The dausage - as it's known - is the brainchild of Liam Bennett, who says he's received some positive feedback from retailers. 

He told Walesonline: "I started thinking about what else could be crossed with a doughnut and wondered if a sausage would work.

"I began with pork with strawberry and cumberland with raspberry, and, contrary to many other people’s expectations, they worked really well together."

He told Buzzfeed he's been working on a variety of new flavours:

  • Pork with Strawberry Jam
  • Pork and Beef with Custard
  • Pork with Leek and Blackcurrant Jam
  • Chicken with Raspberry 
  • Dausage Rolls
  • Venison with Strawberry Custard
  • Vegetarian with Primula

"​Most people who have tried it have loved it," Bennet said. 

"There is always a bit of wariness to begin with," he added. "I am just finalizing the details of some food festivals we will be attending over the summer."
