Rare dodo skeleton goes on sale
A rare skeleton of a dodo is to be sold at auction.
95 per cent of the remains of the extinct bird were found with only the bits of the skull and claws missing.
The unique piece is expected to reach at least £1,000, 000 when it goes up for sale at Summers Place Auction in West Sussex, in November
Summers Place Auctions director, Rupert van der Werff, told Sky News: "We got a telephone call out of the blue from somebody saying they had the skeleton of a dodo and we didn't really quite believe it.
"We thought all the remains that are out there were known.
"It turned out that he amassed it over quite a few decades and it is just extraordinary."
