A plane was grounded over the weekend when a passenger spotted a rather strange wifi hotspot name pop up on her phone.

According to the Western Australian newspaper, a passenger on a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Perth spotted a wifi hotspot pop up on her phone with the really stupid name 'Mobile Detonation Device'.

Understandably spooked, the passenger told the crew, who called security.

The plane was delayed as passengers were told the plane was being searched for a 'device'.

Nothing was found and nobody was arrested.

The plane was then cleared for take off but 40 passengers refused to fly and asked to be let off the plane.

This was allowed but by the time their bags were unloaded the plane was delayed for two hours.

The remaining passengers then flew to Perth, where the plane landed safely.
