PICS: Paddy Power 'Dublin-ise' shops in Kilkenny ahead of big game
Paddy Power have decided to controversially 'Dublin-ise' two of their shops in Kilkenny ahead of the arrival of Dublin GAA fans for the clash with Laois in the city at the weekend
The re-modelling, which takes aim at stereotypes of both halves of the city, happened in two of the bookie's shops in the Marble City.
According to the company:
'Representing the Southside is the “Totes Amazeballs” Paddy Power Dean Street shop. This is manned by Mini-driving, selfie-loving Iseult, who’s sporting a bespoke velour tracksuit and designer bag. She’s accompanied by pal Oisín, rocking a green polo shirt while permanently affixed to his beloved protein shaker.
'Looking after the bookie’s Northside shop in Loughboy is track-suited duo Anto and Chantelle, charged not only with promoting the outlet’s “Bleedin’ Deadly Offers”, but also maintaining a Moore Street-style fruit and veg stand as they care for Rocky, the shop’s imported Smithfield stallion.'
With reports circulating that the much talked about Nowlan Park clash in the Leinster Senior FootballChampionship may not be a sell out after all, we wonder will a few extra Dubs travel to visit the shops so they can tell Paddy Power exactly what they think about his latest marketing stunt?
We have a feeling some won't be too pleased.
As for the actual game, the Dubs are a staggering 1/100 to win, with Laois a meaty 16/1 to pull off the shock of the Championship.
