Penguin travels 5,000 miles to be with his saviour
A penguin travelled 5,000 miles to visit the man who saved him from dying.
Joao Pereira de Souza, 71, from Brazil found the aquatic animal in 2011 covered in oil and left to die on a beach and saved its life.
He named him Dindim after finding him in the country's capital Rio de Janeiro, and put him back into the wild, thinking they'd never meet again.
But his monochrome friend turned up on a beach near his home again months later and the pair have been inseparable since.
Joao told the Brazilian news channel Globo TV: "I love the penguin like he's my own child and I believe the penguin loves me. No one else is allowed to touch him. He pecks them if they do. He lays on my lap, lets me give him showers, allows me to feed him sardines and to pick him up."
