Man impersonates cop to get to top of drive-through queue
A man has been charged with impersonating an officer by using sirens and flashing lights to skip to the head of the drive-through line at a fast-food restaurant.
Police said Michael Chico was arrested in Odessa, west Texas, after an off-duty officer spotted a truck with law-enforcement markings.
The officer who saw the truck skip the queue thought the driver, who was wearing a uniform, was a volunteer firefighter and followed Chico to some apartments.
When confronted, Chico said he was not an officer and also used the lights and sirens to get through traffic lights.
He was freed on a $15,000 bond.
