Maltesers have become the UK's favourite chocolate treat.
The title was previously held by Cadbury Dairy Milk although sales have plummeted by £8.8 million in the last year to £44.6 million, while a whopping £49.7 million was forked out on the chocolate honeycomb balls, up £2.6 million on last year.
The news comes from data analysts IRI, whose head of strategic insight-retail, Martin Wood told Confectionary News: "It comes after Mars introduced bar format Maltesers Teasers in March 2013.
"Mars as a manufacturer has always been strong in the convenience channel so it is no surprise that this channel is showing strong growth for them."
