Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton spend £800,000 on divorce cash fight
Rock star Liam Gallagher and ex-wife Nicole Appleton ran up more than £800,000 in legal bills in row over how to divide their assets.
Judge Martin O'Dwyer ruled that the couple's assets are to be split in half and that they each should receive £5.5 million.
He called the level of spending on legal costs was '"manifestly excessive".
Gallagher (43) and Appleton (41) had argued over the division of assets at a previous hearing earlier in the month.
Neither party were at the hearing on Friday morning.
The judge said the former couple 'lived a very good lifestyle'
However, he voiced his concerns about the sum of money the pair had spent on lawyers regarding asset divisions.
"The level of costs in this case, totalling over £800,000, are manifestly excessive for the determination of the dispute, which involves capital sums not much greater at the end of the day than £10 million."
Gallagher, a former member of Oasis, and Appleton, a singer with girl group All Saints, married in 2008 and have a son together.
They spilt up in 2013.
The judge ruled that Gallagher and Appleton has assets totalling £10.8 million and that each party should receive £5.5 million.
