The Irish soccer team's kit manager became a global sensation this week thanks to his Superman outfit but Dick Redmond lost part of his costume on Monday night.

The Star reports today that the long-serving kit manager was still in his costume as he joined members of the team for a well deserved celebration in Copper Face Jacks after qualification for Euro 2016 was secured.

However, the cape didn't survive the night and now a social media campaign has been launched to try and find the missing piece of the Man of Steel's look.

Dick's post-match get achieved global attention but it wasn't the first time that the 60-year-old dug out the fancy dress.

He tells the paper that he had a Captain America costume in his bag ahead of the Ireland France play off bu then a certain handball meant that look never saw the light of day in 2009.

However, defeat of Estonia in 2011 meant the costume eventually got an outing.

And on last night's Off The Ball, goalkeeper Darren Randolph revealed that Redmond has also tried out a Borat-style mankini.

Thankfully, we have no pictures of that...
