Doctor has phobia of belly buttons
A trainee doctor has a phobia of belly buttons.
A medical student may be forced to give up on her dreams of become a practitioner as her rare condition - also known as Omphalophobia - leaves her vomiting and sometimes sparks crippling panic attacks when she sees the weird body part.
She's quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I know it is irrational but I cannot touch them or have mine touched. I get really freaked out and it makes me feel so uncomfortable. If someone touches mine, it feels like they are touching my insides and I can feel it all through me. I won't even touch my own. And when we had a lecture on abdominal examinations I had a panic attack in front of everybody."
