An apology note is going viral which was reportedly written by Airbnb renters who allegedly had a “coke-fuelled orgy” in a couple’s living room while the home owners were enjoying their wedding night.

The couple, who regularly advertise two rooms on the app, say they forgot to disable instant booking on the app for their wedding night - which happened to be New Year's Eve, a time of huge demand for accommodation.

Justine Smith told Buzzfeed Canada that she called the people who booked through the app to cancel but they requested that the booking be honoured as it was too hard to find alternative accommodation.

The couple, who were planning a wedding with less than twenty people in attendance, were due to stay in their own apartment the night of their wedding, but they agreed. "We need the money", Justine explained.

Smith and her fiancé Francisco Peres returned to their apartment around 2.30am to a huge mess, according to the couple.

Later in the night, the couple reported that they could hear their renters 'cutting cocaine' on the glass table and then having sex.

"Not super loud but we can definitely hear them, and it just wasn’t worth asking them to please not have sex on our couch".

In the morning, Smith reports that the couple found empty cocaine bags on the living room table, two naked strangers on the couch and a third in bed with the renting couple.

"They said things got out of hand".

The renters then cleaned the apartment, leaving an apology note which went viral when Smith tweeted it to her 7,000 followers.

Smith told Buzzfeed that she can now see the funny side, despite having to dump the living room rug due to irremovable stains. "I have a great wedding story for the rest of my life".

Airbnb offered to pay the couple's cleaning costs and cover the price of the rug, along with compensating them for the unbooked guests.
