2fm have shaken up their afternoon schedule with a new name
Tracey Clifford from Spin 1038 will be taking over the afternoon slot from Rick O'Shea
RTE made the announcement today. The statement said:
Tracy moves to 2fm from her popular Spin 1038 show, Fully Charged with Ryan and Tracy. Tracy’s new programme will follow The Nicky Byrne Show with Jenny Greene to present her afternoon show and then pass over to Eoghan McDermott who now presents Drive.
That means the end of the very popular Rick O'Shea programme. The DJ used Twitter to announce that his show will be moving to weekends.
Head of 2fm, Dan Healy said: “Tracy Clifford has been a household name for younger audiences in Dublin, having been part of an extremely successful breakfast show. Large audiences are already familiar with her humour, passion for music and her journalistic skills, and now with her national radio station debut, the rest of you are about to get a blast of the Tracy Clifford magic. It’s an exciting period for both Tracy and our listeners.”
O'Shea said: Over the past 14 years, 2fm has become my home and I’m thrilled to be a big part of this new and exciting schedule. The weekends are a brand new adventure for me and the guys and we very much look forward to disrupting your mornings with our usual brand of total nonsense. For all the show’s listeners, we’re moving shop around the corner and the sign over the door will remain the same. See you on the other side!
