Dramatic & Fantastic Garda
Italy’s largest and most beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by olive groves, vineyards, picturesque villages and medieval castles.
A wonderful place to windsurf, sail, swim - or just ramble round the shores. Exquisite natural beauty, along with one of Europe’s most exciting amusement parks.
Erica Casey Al Fresco Specialist tells us “It’s hard to beat the array of options a Garda holiday offers: Beaches, fantastic cities, theme parks, boat trips, bike trails and irresistable café culture and you can see why it’s Ireland’s favourite Italian camping adventure.”
Grotte Di Catullo
A stunning example of remains of a Roman villa on the Sirmione Peninsula with great views over the lake. The ruins are best reached via land train which you can get from outside the old thermal spa building in Sirmione.
Isola del Garda
The island is a place of rare and special beauty. Guided tours include the neo-Gothic villa and picturesque gardens which slope down to the lake, with tastings of local products such as wine and olive oil also available.
Verona - Juliet’s birthday (Sept 16th)
Verona hosts parades, dances and general street merriment to celebrate Juliet’s birthday. Visit her house in a courtyard off Via Capello, where you can see the famous balcony.
Lake Garda is located in one of the largest cheese making regions in Italy. Marscarpone, gorgonzola, Taleggio and Grana Padano all call the Lombardy region their home.
