Noel Gallagher bemoans Q Awards design

Noel Gallagher took home the Best Album prize at the Q Awards today (19.10.15) - and urged organisers to change the design of the "rubbish" award.

The 48-year-old rock star collected his gong at the event at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London for his 'Chasing Yesterday' album, but used the opportunity to bemoan the design of the prize and described it as "bobbins".

On collecting the Best Album award, Noel said: "First of all, I've been coming here for years. They need to f***ing sort this s**t out, these (the awards) are bobbins, rubbish I've got hundreds of these you can't put them anywhere. This would have been interesting if this was the 90s in that category, I would've been going 'You're f***ing s**t!'

"Thank you very much. And I'd like to thank my producer - who was me, you were f**ing brilliant. Have a great afternoon, see you later, bye."

Noel's expletive-filled acceptance speech prompted a humorous response from host Christian O'Connell, who quipped: "Next year Noel can f***king design the award."

The former lead guitarist of Oasis also revealed he's already won too many awards to keep track of.

Asked how many gongs he's won during the course of his career, Noel told BANG Showbiz: "I've got too many! I give them away, I've lost a few. I don't keep awards at home, I think it's bad for my children.

"My mam has got some stuff at her house, she's got stuff I don't even remember winning."

Among the other winners was Ed Sheeran, who was crowned Best Solo Artist for the second year running, following the release of his chart-topping album 'x'.

Meanwhile, Florence + The Machine beat Muse, Foals, The Weeknd and Miguel to win Best Video and The Libertines' 'Gunga Din' was voted Best Track by readers of Q magazine.
