Bono on the death of tour manager Dennis Sheehan: We've lost a family member
Bono has issued a statment following the death of their long-time tour manager Dennis Sheehan.
Sheehan, who was in his sixties, was found dead in his hotel room in LA in the early hours of the morning, according to TMZ.
He had been the band's tour manager since 1982 and he had returned to his room in the Sunset Marquis Hotel just hours after the band had played the first of five shows at the Forum in LA.
In a statement on the U2 website, Bono said: "We've lost a family member, we're still taking it in. He wasn't just a legend in the music business, he was a legend in our band. He is irreplaceable."
Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Chris Reade said first responders were called at around 5.30am local time to reports of a man in cardiac arrest. Mr Sheehan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coroner's investigators are at the hotel.
