Tom Hardy scoops LCC Award
Tom Hardy was named British/Irish Actor of the year at the London Critics' Circle (LCC) Film Awards tonight (17.01.16).
The 38-year-old actor was honoured at the ceremony thanks to his work in 2015, which included roles in 'Mad Max: Fury Road', 'Legend', 'London Road' and 'The Revenant', while 'Brooklyn' actress Saoirse Ronan won the British/Irish Actress of the Year prize.
Tom's win contributed to 'Mad Max: Fury Road's haul for the evening, with the film also scooping the coveted Film of the Year prize, as well as Director of the Year for George Miller.
The movie's three wins were equalled by marital drama '45 Years' which saw its stars Tom Courtenay and Charlotte Rampling named Actor and Actress of the Year, while the movie itself was named British/Irish Film of the Year.
Elsewhere, 'Steve Jobs' actress Kate Winslet was named Supporting Actress of the Year, with the Supporting Actor prize going to 'Bridge of Spies' star Mark Rylance.
Asif Kapadia's Amy Winehouse film 'Amy' took the award for Documentary of the Year, while Maisie Williams, 18, accepted the Young British/Irish Performer of the Year prize thanks to her part in 'The Falling.
Dame Judi Dench took to the stage at London's May Fair Hotel to present the final honour of the night, the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film, which she handed over to her 'A Winter's Tale' co-star Sir Kenneth Branagh.
