Hollywood is really reaching for the stars in 2015. Sequels and remakes are set to thrill cinema-goers this year and we are here to guide you through the best movies you shouldn't miss.

In date-order, here are 10 movie dates you should note in your diary.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Release Date: Out now
Stars: Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey jnr, James Spader
Director: Joss Whedon
The much-anticipated sequel to Whedon's highly-acclaimed first Avengers movie is not very far away from a release date. What we know so far is that Elizabeth Olsen is joining the Avengers gang as Scarlet Witch while they all battle against James Spader's Ultron. We've also heard that there will be a lot more of Hulk in this one!

Jurassic World
Release Date: May 11
Stars: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, David Oyelowo
Director: Colin Trevorrow
The trailers for this movie look immense — let's hope Colin Trevorrow can live up to the expectation. The plot surrounds a Dinosaur themed zoo/park where visitors can interract with the reborn beasts. However, when a new dinosaur is concocted by park chiefs to re-spark visitor numbers it backfires in dramatic fashion.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Release Date: May 13
Stars: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theorn, Nicholas Hoult
Director: George Miller
Brit Tom Hardy carries this movie as well as the expectation. Trying to live up to the original Mad Max movies will be difficult but talk from those in the know suggest director George Miller has nailed it. This is a remake and does carry the same plot to Mel Gibson's original.

Inside Out
Release Date: June 17
Stars: Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling
Director: Pete Docker
Inside Out has a loveable plot line. The animated film is told from the perspective of the emotions inside the head of a little girl. A host of comedic talent is involved with Amy Poehler playing the emotion of joy, Bill Hader playing fear, Lewis Black playing anger and Mindy Kaling playing disgust. Sounds like fun to us!

Ted 2
Release Date: June 26
Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried
Director: Seth McFarlene
Seth McFarlene has tried to keep the synopsis of Ted 2 a secret but what we know to date is that Mark Wahlberg's character has been dumped by his girlfriend (played by Mila Kunis in the original). Amanda Seyfried is on board and will play a character called Samantha Jackson. Is she a new love interest? McFarlene won't tell us!

Terminator Genisys
Release Date: July 1st
Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emila Clarke, Jai Courtney
Director: Alan Taylor
Yep, Arnie’s back. He always said he would be! Game of Thrones beauty Emila Clarke plays a young Sarah Connor whose son John is now the leader of the resistence (we’re in 2029 by the way). The movie flashes back and forward through time as Sarah and the Terminator try to escape the clutches of the T-800 and T-1000 who are sent back to kill them.

The Walk
Release Date: October 15
Stars: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le bon
Director: Robert Zemeckis
If you have seen the award-winning documentary Man On Wire, then you will be excited about Hollywood's production of the same story. This is the stunning tale of a Frenchman named Philip Petit (Joseph Gordon Levitt) who attempted to walk on a wire between the two World Trade Centres in New York back in 1974. The trailer looks intense.

The Hateful Eight
Release Date: November 13
Stars: Channing Tatum, Kurt Russell, Samuel L Jackson
Director: Quentin Tarantino
We struggled to get much information on this movie due to Quentin Tarantino's insistence on keeping his cards close to his chest. The whole script has been rewritten after a leak, but what we know for a fact is that this movie will be set in post Civil War Wyoming and it follows bounty hunters as they track their prey. This is the movie we're most looking forward to this year.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
Release Date: November 20
Stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutherson
Director: Francis Lawrence
We can't wait for the conclusion to the Hunger Games quadrilogy. So many questions need to be answered. Will Katniss penetrate the capitol? Will she remove the powers that be? Will our heroine fall in love with Peta or Gale? Or will the whole story end in disappointment? The war is truly about to kick off in Mockingjay Part 2 and this promises to be the best of the four movies.

Star Wars Episode VII. The Force Awakens
Release Date: December 18
Stars: Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson
Director: JJ Abrams
You may have to wait until the very end of the year to see JJ Abrams' Star Wars, but surely it will be worth the wait? Little is known about the plot as yet, but fanatics have been drooling over the trailer released so far, guessing at what is going to take place. What we know is that Episode VII takes place 30-years after episode VI and that most of the original cast will reprise their roles.
