Phil Lord and Christopher Miller to direct The Flash?

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller could be set to direct 'The Flash'.

The 'Lego Movie' filmmakers are said to be busy developing a story for the DC Comic superhero for Warner Bros. but have not yet officially signed up to helm the project, The Wrap reports.

The 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' actor Ezra Miller has been confirmed to take on the role of the titular superhero, whose extraordinary speed means he's able to travel through time.

Miller will make his debut as The Flash in the new Zack Snyder directed 'Justice League' film being lined up for a 2017 release before starring in the standalone movie a year later.

He is also set to star in a second instalment of the 'Justice League' in 2019.

Meanwhile, directors Lord and Miller - who achieved huge success with their box office hit 'Lego Movie' - are currently working on a sequel to the film and have also reportedly been approached to direct an upcoming film in the 'Ghostbusters' universe.

'The Flash' is slated for release on March 23, 2018.
