Mark Hamill still hasn't spoken in new Star Wars saga

Mark Hamill has joked he has "no dialogue" yet in the new 'Star Wars' trilogy.

Shooting began on 'Episode VIII' on Monday (15.02.16), however, original star Hamill - who reprises his role as Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker - is still yet to speak in the sci-fi saga after his brief and silent appearance in 'The Force Awakens'.

The 64-year-old actor took to Twitter to post: "An adventure just beginning ... #StillNoDialogue #RianHasMoreLinesThanMe #Wait4VIII #StarWars #StarWarsEpVIII (sic)"

Luke is set to play a prominent role in the plot of the blockbuster sequel as the Resistance continues to battle the First Order led by Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

The first few days back on set have seemingly been busier for John Boyega, who reprises his role as Finn.

He wrote on Twitter this week: "First day on Star Wars 8 complete ! We must face them! Fight them! (sic)"

Daisy Ridley returns as Rey, 'Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie will be seen again as Captain Phasma, Oscar Isaac reprises his role as Commander Poe Dameron and Carrie Fisher will be back as General Leia Organa.

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is due for release December 15, 2017.
