Jason Segel to direct Lego spin-off
Jason Segel is working on another 'Lego Movie' spin-off.
The 35-year-old actor - who helped bring 'The Muppets' back to the big screen - has teamed with 'Iron Man 3' writer Drew Pearce to develop 'The Billion Brick Race', and as well as writing the script, the pair will also make their feature film directorial debuts with the picture.
The film is in the early stages of development and doesn't yet have a release date.
However, it isn't likely to come out for some time as Warner Bros. also has spin-offs 'Ninjago' and 'The Lego Batman Movie', as well as 'The Lego Movie 2' slated for release in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Dan Lin and Roy Lee will produce 'Billion Brick Race' and the plot - which is based on an original story by Pearce - is being kept under wraps.
Though this is Segel and Pearce's first foray into feature film directing, the actor previously went behind the camera on an 'I Love You Man'-related short, while the screenwriter worked on 'Marvel One-Shot: All Hail The King', a spin-off featuring 'Iron Man 3' villain Trevor Slattery, played by Sir Ben Kingsley.
