Dublin actor Jack Reynor has fuelled rumours he’s among a handful of stars in the running to play the young Han Solo in a Star Wars spin-off.

The Transformers star suggested he’d been talking to studio heads when he spoke about what the role needed.

“We’re talking about Harrison Ford. He’s no chump,” Reynor said.

“You can’t do an imitation. You can’t try and just emulate what that is.

“It’s got to be something new. It’s got to be something the audience is going to respond to.”

Harrison Ford played the role of Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as in the latest sequel, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
