Triumph sets the standard with stunning new bikes
Triumph’s impressive Tiger 800 range just got bigger, with the introduction of XRT and XCA models.
Priced from €12,375, there are now six models to choose from.
Whether tackling mile after mile of twists and turns, or taking in terrain of the rougher variety and leaving the tarmac behind, the Tiger 800 XCA and XRT models sit at the top of the range and come dripping in goodies and rider aids.
Both models share the latest evolution of Triumph’s powerful, torque-laden 94bhp 800cc triple engine, featuring enhanced fuel efficiency (with up to 17 per cent on the new combined cycle claimed) and delivering up to 435km of riding on a single tank.
The new engine sits in a revised chassis and is coupled to a suite of rider-focused technologies, including ride-by-wire throttle for improved response and rideability, three switchable riding modes and switchable ABS and traction control as standard.
TIGER 800 XRT
The more road-focused of the two new models, the Tiger 800 XRT, comes in a comfort package that incorporates heated rider and passenger seats and heated grips. The 94bhp triple engine comes in an enhanced chassis, with the ability to tailor performance to the climate and conditions via the Tiger XRT’s three switchable riding modes. A 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear cast aluminium rims underpin the XRT’s road-going credentials.
Cruise control, an advanced trip computer and adjustable screen and hand guards are all standard, and the XRT comes with a larger 650W alternator to accommodate the host of electronic equipment riders need to charge on the go these days.
LED fog lights are also fitted as standard and the bike comes prepared with the standard fitment of pannier rails ready to accept the optional Expedition luggage set.
TIGER 800 XCA
Featuring the same 95PS triple engine and ride-by-wire throttle as its road-biased stablemates, the new model is enhanced with a host of off-road features — WP suspension front and CNC machined foot rests, in addition to the standard equipment the XRT gets.
