Bikers roll out in charity ride
Sharon Stone will accept a big fat cheque from a group of kind-hearted American bikers on Saturday week when they roll into Santa Monica, California.
The Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR is a 12-day, multi-stop, celebrity motorcycle ride aimed at raising awareness and funding for HIV/Aids research.
This year’s celebrity riders include actors Gilles Martin (Dancing with the Stars); Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex); and Jay Bellis (The Game).
Other famous participants taking part in this year’s event are former England rugby international Ben Cohen.
The annual event, now in its sixth year, kicked off on Tuesday, with the group rolling out of Denver, Colorado. American cosmetics company Kiehl’s will donate $150,000 over the course of this year’s ride, bringing the firm’s total donation to date to $1.2m since 2010.
Other big companies which have lent support to this year’s event include Harley-Davidson and Tom Ford.
