Inspire Galerie hosts 1916 exhibition Dublin Rises

Dublin’s Inspire Galerie is hosting ‘Dublin Rises’, a solo exhibition of paintings by Dublin based artist Stephen Walsh.

The collection is a commemoration to the men and women who fought and died in the 1916 rising.

Dublin born carpenter, draftsman and artist Stephern says: “my other professions are of a creative nature they will never measure up to brush, paint and pencil on canvas, board and paper.

“I've a keen interest in prospective, figurative and portrait painting and drawing. I always aim to bring these three aspects together in my work to portray the story I wish to tell.

“I'm inspired both by my very strong Irish patriotism and my love for old Irish fairy and folklore tales steeped in mystery, mischief, deceit and at times the malevolent beings of all genders, shapes and sizes.”

Dublin Rises is on show between the 5th and 12th of May 2017 and doors open at 6pm at the Inspire Galerie, 56 Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1
