1960s New York style at Platform 61’s first birthday

The eatery will be throwing a spectacular New York City 1961 themed feast over two-nights on Thursday 28 July and Friday 29 July
Guests will be greeted with Platform 61’s signature cocktail – the P61 on arrival, and over the course of the evening be served a five-course tasting menu inspired by the glamour, chic and excitement of New York City in 1961.
The menu, designed co-owner and chef, Sinisa Strbad will feature imaginative and adventurous takes on classic cuisine and give a flavour of Platform 61’s culinary offering.

Among the delights in store for guests are gin cured salmon with gin and tonic jelly and cucumber ribbons; duck confit with sweet potato fondant and fois gras brûlée, and Platform 61’s infamous nutty brownie.
“In July 2015, we started putting the restaurant concept together, looking for a suitable location and sourcing the best ingredients from local suppliers before officially opening to the public, said Zoe Hertelendi, co-owner.
“It’s been a whirlwind year but we’re been overwhelmed with the positive feedback the restaurant has received from customers.
“As you know, the restaurant setting is inspired by Track 61, a secret subway platform under the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, so what better way is there to celebrate our 1st birthday than with a nod to the location and time-period that inspired our design”, she added.
In addition to the menu, there’ll be further nods to the theme of New York City 1961 throughout the evening.
